Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to Manager: Marine and Aviation.

Receive and register new claims

Appoint and liaise with Assessor

Liaise with client and underwriter on claim

Collect and collate documents

Liaise with internal account executives and underwriters

·
Manage claims process and procedures and ensure minimum standards
are adhered to

Prepare accurate statistics and claims reports

·
Control and monitor recoveries
-
·
Control and monitor aggregate excesses
-
·
Ongoing demonstration of high standard of Client service
-
·
Attend meetings with Account Manager when required
-
·
Assist with training within the Division and mentoring employees
-
·
Assist with large claims
-
·
Update and monitor claims systems
-

The Suitable incumbent must:
-
·
Have a minimum of at least 8 years marine claims handling experience
in
-
a Corporate Broking environment, handling both Cargo and Liability
claims
-
·
Must be Fais compliant with a minimum of 60 FAIS credits and working
towards
-
AIISA or be in possession of other qualification
-
·
Must be computer literate in both Word and Excel
-
·
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
-
·
Must show willingness and ability to take on responsibility and to
use initiative
-
·
Must conduct themselves in a professional manner
-
·
Must be honest and confidential, and have a high work ethic
-
·
Have a good understanding of Marine Cargo Clauses as well as Marine
Liability cover

Be able to cope with pressure and high volumes of work

Be able to build good working relationships and work well within a
team

FAIS COMPLIANCE

Applicants must:

Comply with (or have a development plan in place to achieve
compliance with) the applicable provision of the determination of
Fit & Proper requirements for Financial Services Providers (FSB

Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions of the
general code of conduct of Authorized Financial Services Providers
and Representatives (FSB Board Notice 80). This information is on

Have a basic understanding of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act
(FICA), Act 38 of 2001, and the money laundering provisions of the
Prevention of Organized Crime Act 121 of 1998.
