Vacancy:                    Business Support Manager

 

Salary:                        R300K – R400K

Position reports to: Business / IT Support manager

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

 

To produce accurate and appropriate business specifications through analysis of business requirements for system development purposes. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

§  Project Management Diploma.

§  Minimum 3-5 years IT experience, specifically business analysis.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Process Management

 

§  Analyses processes continuously and reports on improvements and/or changes.

§  Attends development workshops with regards to new system requirements.

§  Analyses business requirements and produces clear functional business specifications for new developments or system enhancements.

§  Maintains system master files and parameter files.

§  Communicates business requirements to the project/development team.

§  Performs testing of software releases and coordinates user acceptance testing.

§  Provides support to staff in respect of minor problems as well as systems errors and problems, and ensures that service level agreements with users are met.

§  Prioritises users’ production issues regarding new requirements and bugs.

§  Manages defects/bugs from identification to resolution.

§  Sets up new commercial and personal lines products which include wording, excesses, rates, memos and other.

§  Does amendments to the configuration of existing commercial and personal lines products.

§  Attends staff meetings on a weekly basis to discuss work in progress and issues and concerns with the Business/IT Support Manager.

 

Cost Management

§  Is not responsible for compiling and/or managing a budget.
